Literacy Learning & Play

Young children are meant to play and literacy naturally supports play.  Luna Park Preschool is a literacy rich environment. We believe that learning through literacy happens all throughout the day. We promote and encourage a variety of opportunities to use literacy on a daily basis – through our engaging rhyming and language games, story telling, reading and re-reading of our favorite books, poems and songs as well as including daily crafts that are always rich in vocabulary and with opportunities to introduce print.  Believing that by doing so, we are ultimately building a strong foundation for the beginnings of early readers and writers.
